13.Tag - On the road again...

Wir mussten leider feststellen das wir wohl langsam mal etwas Strecke machen müssen, wenn wir es noch bis zum Great Barrier Reef schaffen wollen. Also wurde ein Extremfahrtag eingelegt. Haben alles aus dem Toyota (TOYOTA!) rausgeholt, was in ihm steckt und sind in 12 Stunden 850km gefahren... ja, traurig... aber wahr. Schuld war aber nicht der Toyota, sondern das Geschwindigkeitslimit.
René hat einen Free Driver Coffee abgestaubt, der war in etwa so widerlich wie Kaffee nur werden kann. In Australien sind die Leute große Fans von Instant-Kaffee... vermutlich konnten so Starbucks und verwandte Unternehmen so groß werden...
Besonders schön ist das Fahren in der Mittagshitze und in der Region um Rockhampton (Beef Capital of Australia, 250km Radius nur Kühe!)... das war so langweilig... dass uns am nächsten Tag der gleiche Mist nochmal bevorstand hat die Stimmung auf ein absoluten Höhepunkt getrieben :-)(Wir wollten ja bis nach Cairns, das waren insgesamt 1600km von der Gold Coast...)




We noted that if we want to make it to the Great Barrier Reef we still need to drive a whole bunch of kilometres. D'oh!. Hence, we just drove. The sad result of 12 hours driving was only 850 km. But this wasn't due to our shitty car, cause that one was pretty good, but to the speedlimits.
René got a free drivers coffee that was as disgusting as coffee can get. Australians seem to be big fans of instant coffee... that's probably why Starbucks could get that popular...
Particularly exciting is driving around Rockhampton (Beef capital of Australia, in a radius of 250km only cattle)...soooo booooriiing... that we had to do that again the next day helped a lot to cheer us up :-)
(Actually we wanted to drive up til Cairns which is 1600km north of the Gold Coast, in total...)
