Irgendwie sind wir dann doch in unserem Hostel angekommen. Die Erkundung Sydneys konnte beginnen.
Eine sehr schöne Stadt. Das Wetter war spitze (So an die 30 Grad, prima zu ertragen) und neben einer Menge herumschlendern und die Stadt genießen waren wir noch im Aquarium.
Dort konnten wir uns Platypus (Schnabeltiere), Haie, Seelöwen/Hunde, Meeresschildkröten und eine Menge anderes Getier der Australischen Gewässer ansehen. Eine feine Sache, nur öhm, sagen wir mal in Australien scheint mans nicht so zu haben mit ausreichend großen Becken... naja...
Abends haben wir dann noch eine Cruise mit dem Wassertaxi gemacht. Eine Menge interessanter und lustiger Kommentare des Taxifahrers machten das zu einem Highlight. Da in dieser Stadt eh jedes minimal sehenswerte Gebäude beleuchtet wird, ist Sydney bei Nacht wirklich beeindruckend.
Meeting at the airport in Sydney. René has the biggest jetlag one could ever imagine but the joy of being in Australia helps to oppress this problem til 10 pm. Among the new impressions there is the traffic that drives on the wrong side (left) of the road in such a way that he gets very confused...
After a little bit of an effort we managed to get to our hostel and could start the exploration of Sydney.
Sydney is relatively pretty. The weather is excellent (30°) and besides just walking around and absorbing impressions we went into the aquarium. The latter one showed platypus, sharks, seals, turtles and some other Australian marine animals. The only bad thing we could find was that the areas where the animals were held are pretty small...
In the evening we die a Sydney harbour cruise in the watertaxe. Since the whole skyline was enlightened it was really impressive. The comments of our guide made this cruise even more extraordinary.
