Herausforderung Nr. 2: Versuche mit einem Campervan (Toyota Hiace) im Linksverkehr aus Sydney herauszukommen. Öhm, irgendwann waren wir nicht mehr in Sydney. :-)
Dann gings ab zu unserem ersten Ziel: Die Blue Mountains. Auf dem Weg dahin haben wir erstmal eine wichtige Entdeckung gemacht. In New South Wales (und Queensland wie wir später erfahren sollten) gibt es ALDI! Spitzen Sache das, in Australien sind Lebensmittel nämlich nicht gerade günstig.
In den Blue Mountains haben wir einen Walk entlang der Wentworth Falls gemacht. Ein beeindruckender Start in den Urlaub. Bis zu 300m hohe Wasserfälle, großartige Aussicht und eine wirklich gute Route. Fantastisch.
Unsere erste Nacht auf einem Parkplatz in einem National Park sollte folgen. Echo Point Lookout hieß es, und wir haben da nur geparkt, weil es abgelegen war...
Ok, finally we're on the road. After getting up pretty early our first task was to find the rental company. This was actually pretty easy. Great! Second task: try to get out of Sydney with a car (campervan) you don't know and where all the people are driving on the wrong side of the road (left). Yep, somehow we even managed to do that... :-)
On the way to the Blue Mountains, our first stop, we made an important discovery. In NSW (New South Wales) and Queensland (QLD) there are ALDI stores, cheap German food stores.
In the Blue Mountains we did an excellent walk along the Wentworth Falls. A very good beginning... falls of a height of 300m, great views and a good walk. Fantastic!
Our first night we spent on a carpark in a national park (Echo Point). We just stayed there because it was remote...
